IP-One
TELUS
www.telus.com
TELUS commercially launched its
Hosted and Managed IP-One communications service in 2003. The TELUS
IP-One service is the culmination of over two years of R&D,
working closely with legacy and next-gen vendors to build the first
carrier-class open architecture hosted IP communications platform.
The open architecture has allowed the IP-One service to be built
using best-in-breed IP softswitch and media gateway technologies,
using an integrated message bus that provides a platform for future
growth. Users benefit
from the service by lowering their overall TCO (Capex, Opex, IP
communications), including the productivity benefits of interacting
with the service using a fully web-enabled front-end.
TELUS IP-One is the first hosted IP communications
service built for carriers by a carrier. The service allows service
providers to use the IP-One Service Delivery System (SDS) to
interoperate legacy and discrete vendor products -- while appearing
to a service provider's Billing and OAM&P systems as a single
entity and interface. As a Tier 1 carrier-initiated platform,
carriers can trust the IP-One service to scale to meet their needs
and the service can easily be tailored for residential, SME and
enterprise-level markets.
