BioPay, provider of biometric systems for initiating and securing financial transactions, now offers integrated multi-lane biometric point-of-sale solutions. The integrated in-lane system works on both IBM and MTX supermarket applications and offers enhancements over the original standalone terminal, including multi-store capabilities. The biometric device, which connects directly to the ECR, is managed by a multiplatform library, uses a serial or USB connection, and follows published ISO 8583 specifications to complete transactions.
BioPay says its solution gives merchants a low cost form of accepting payments, up to 75% less than the costs of credit card transactions. It offers integration with loyalty programs, age verification, and manager transaction overrides.
Since biometrics are unique to an individual and can't be stolen or easily replicated, merchants can be more confident the customer is who they say they are. Making purchases can be easier; the customer’s unique finger scan quickly authorizes payment, eliminating the need to carry an ID, cards, checks or cash.
