Clavister AB has launched the latest version of Clavister CorePlus, its premium IP-based security operating system.
Version 8.90 is an application-centric release with three new Application Layer Gateways. According to Clavister, the operating system is also a further commitment to the UTM solution offered today, with support for anti-spam and anti-virus scanning for POP3 mail protocol.
Vice President Product Management at Clavister, Andreas sander points out that they are
reaffirming their commitment to bring world-class application security to the end users without introducing unnecessary complexity.
Boasting a wide range of new features, Clavister CorePlus version 8.90 comes with a wide range of new features, including extensive support for Session Initiation Protocol (

Alert) , the de facto standard protocol for Voice over IP

. John Vestberg, vice president Technology at Clavister believes that this is a great release with a number of important new features. He believes the company has worked hard to bring the best implementation of SIP

to the market, fulfilling the true promise of secure VoIP.
This new version also includes other features such as support for NAT

IP pools, the all-new Clavister Device Monitor and support for PCAP recording. Version 8.90 also includes Multiple IP Rule Sets, which Andreas sander believes is a really important feature for all their Managed Security Service Providers (MSSP). He emphasized that this feature alone gives them the ability to simplify administration and more easily manage multiple customers in a single Clavister Security Gateway (

Alert).
Moreover, Clavister CorePlus supports the brand new anti-spam functionality, added support for Trivial File Transfer Protocol (TFTP), and also extended Broadcom (
News -
Alert) support and enhanced support for SNMPv2c. Stefan "Billy" Bogstedt, product marketing manager at Clavister said in a
statement that the anti-spam functionality adds an important tool for administrators in fighting spam, malware and threats.

Blacklists, giving our customers the freedom of choice,” he added.
The company will make available Clavister CorePlus in mid October for download free of charge for customers with Clavister Software Subscriptions.
