Berlin-based Code Couture, a provider of customized software solutions for newsgathering and media companies, has unveiled a valuable tool for newsrooms producing podcasts, radio and TV bulletins or other audio-based media for cross-media applications.

The new tool TextTime will revolutionize the way text is measured. TextTime gives a new unit: time, for text measurement in podcasts or video productions, where traditional unit word-counts, character counts, lines, inches or centimeters are inadequate.

With the solution, editors will no longer have to rely on estimation to convert text lengths into reading lengths and TextTime allows writers and editors to ascertain the time their text will take to be read, even while it is being composed. This makes it possible for the texts to be instantaneously processed for cross-media platforms.

TextTime can be perfectly integrated into documentation software like Adobe InCopy or Microsoft (News - Alert) Word. With TextTime, it is even possible to specify the time limit and determine the text that can be read in that time. TextTime highlights the text according to the specified time and indicates how much is to be added or deleted to make the time.

Listing at 79 euros, TextTime for Adobe InCopy can be downloaded via http://www.code-couture.com. Code Couture also plans to release TextTime for Microsoft Word soon.
