Two of the customers of Vettro (www.vettro.com), a global provider of mobile on-demand business applications, have been announced as the winners of the InfoWorld 100 Awards, according to a press release. The customers – Carilion Clinic and Mac-Gray – have been recognized for their prominent innovative services in their respective categories. The awards recognize IT projects demonstrating the most creative application of state-of-the-art technologies to achieve business goals. “Whether ushering legacy systems into the agile era or revolutionizing how their companies leverage technology to meaningful ends, this year's winners are both inspiration and proof that striking a new path in IT can reap deep organizational rewards,” InfoWorld Senior Editor Jason Snyder was quoted as saying in the report.
“Vettro customers continue to be recognized as innovators in field service because of their ability to plan and implement mobile deployments that have measurable results for their respective businesses,” Matt Finkelstein, vice president of product management for Vettro, was quoted as saying in the report. “Mac-Gray and Carilion Clinic have represented their industries well and have shown the next step in evolving their respective business processes.”
Carilion received the aware for the healthcare category. The company was honored for its solutions that offer mobile connectivity for IT service management. Carilion had launched an initiative to improve the productivity of its IT staff. In order to better serve the 11,000 employees distributed over 800 square miles in western Virginia, the company had opted for Vettro 360. The IT Service Management Application helps in better measurement of the team’s productivity. The application has been deployed on the BlackBerry (News - Alert) platform for its entire mobile staff. With the help of the deployment, Carilion has been able to significantly minimize response times and prioritize tickets more efficiently. At the same time, the company can improve service level agreement (SLA) compliance and employee morale.
Mac-Gray, a laundry facilities management company, had received the award in the services category it represented. The company was recognized for its creative application of Vettro 360 Service & Repair across its 260 technicians and 100 coin collectors in 24 locations. The mobile solutions of Mac-Gray - TechLinx and CollectorLinx – have enabled its field service staff to prioritize their tickets and work load. With the help of a unified handset-based application, the staff can enhance the speed and accuracy of their performance. Through the mobile deployment, the company has also been able to minimize error rates on parts orders. In addition to this, the GPS capabilities of the application have considerably reduced fuel consumption across the company’s fleet of vehicles.
