VoIP software supplier Atreus Systems announced on Monday that Columbia, SC-based Spirit Telecom deployed Atreus' IP Service Provisioning Solution to activate and manage its wholesale and retail hosted VoIP services for business and residential customers.

 
Through the partnership, Atreus will enable Spirit to streamline service ordering and provisioning using simplified, self-management portals; simplify feature bundle creation and management capabilities; automate IP phone ordering, shipment and configuration; and simplify complex operational issues including PSTN interconnect, local number portability, updating directory listings and emergency services.
 
“We selected Atreus after a detailed analysis of the competition, including in-depth functional comparison and proven ability to help carriers successfully go 'live' with IP Centrex and residential VoIP services,” said Spirit's Mike Strickland, executive vice president, in a statement.
 
Stickland added: “Atreus will help us automate the provisioning of a variety of devices and streamline the delivery of a vast array of advanced applications to our retail customers, our eighteen member companies and our wholesale and ISP resellers.”
 
Atreus Systems also made news recently when it was selected by Level3 Communications to participate in its (3)VoIP Technology Alliance Program (TAP). The (3)VoIP TAP program connects Level3 with a select group of technology vendors to help service providers quickly deploy services interconnecting with the Level3 network. Participation in this alliance validates that Atreus' software is interoperable with Level3’s current application programming interfaces for its (3)VoIP services.
