IVT, provider of industrial-strength enterprise rich media Webcasting software products, is now offering version 4.0 of its MediaPlatform solution.

Live and on-demand Flash streaming, complete Web service APIs, and improved reporting capabilities have been added to the Webcasting platform. IVT MediaPlatform gives enterprises the ability to produce, manage, distribute, and monitor live and on-demand Webcasts for large audiences. The platform offers dynamic video and multimedia content, interactive polls, quizzes, Q&A functionality, and static visual content including screenshots or PowerPoint slides.

"Increasingly the rich-media community, including many of our customers, are embracing Flash," said Greg Pulier, co-founder and CTO of IVT, in a statement. "As we developed 4.0, our team wanted to expand our enterprise video Webcasting platform so that it could stream Flash-based live events and on-demand presentations, in addition to Windows Media and all other major media formats. We're quite proud of the features in this release and we are fully committed to ensuring that IVT MediaPlatform continues to be the strongest Webcasting engine on the market."

Version 4.0 offers the rich media industry a dual Flash/Windows solution, enabling users to create and distribute live and on-demand Flash video presentations with complete Web services application programming interfaces (APIs). IVT's software can be easily delivered via Software-as-a-Service (SaaS (News - Alert)) or through on-site installation.

The IVT MediaPlatform 4.0 features an improved Flash-based LiveEditor, which allows Webcast creators to control and direct live Webcasts using interactive elements. These elements include slide pushes and instant polling. The new version has given LiveEditor a new look and feel and now loads faster and works more efficiently.

The application’s reporting and statistics functionalities have been enhanced. In previous versions, users have been able to track audience behavior and create reports on viewing trends. The new version’s simplified interface comes with additional features. Webcast creators are now able to assemble sophisticated viewer profiles and track geographic locations for individual Webcast audience members. This information is categorized by country, region, and city and is displayed visually due to the application’s integration with Google (News - Alert) Maps.

Full Web services APIs are on offer with the IVT MediaPlatform 4.0 for those who need to incorporate video Webcasting solutions through application-to-application communication. Users can now input and retrieve data without the need to be logged in. They can also create custom user interfaces that integrate IVT MediaPlatform into existing content management systems or learning management systems.

"Creating Flash-based video presentations has become the preferred, technology-agnostic method for us to reach worldwide audiences, regardless of what browser or operating system viewers are using," said Steve Gogolak, director of media and Webcasting at digital marketing and event solutions agency Cramer, in a statement.  "Since Webcasting is such a powerful marketing and communications tool for our clients, we were happy to help IVT test their new version 4.0 features and are thrilled with the results."
