TriQuint Semiconductor (News - Alert) has named a new vice president for its worldwide operations. The company which manufactures RF semiconductors and provides foundry services announced today that Steven R. Grant will take over as Vice President of Worldwide Operations on July 16, 2008.

 
Grant will be overseeing the company’s global manufacturing operations related to purchasing, manufacturing quality and supply chain and will report to President and CEO, Ralph Quinsey. 
 
"I am very excited to have Steve join the team. His experience at the world's largest and most advanced semiconductor company will bring significant know-how and benefits to TriQuint. We feel fortunate to have attracted such an industry expert," Quinsey remarked.

Grant, has had an illustrious career in the IT industry. For the past 27 years he has been working with Intel (News - Alert) Corporation and the last position he held there was that of Vice President of Intel's Technology and Manufacturing Group in Oregon. At Intel, he successfully managed the Fab manufacturing network and was instrumental in improving manufacturing structure and efficiency.

Hillsboro, Oregon-based TriQuint Semiconductor boasts a staff of almost two thousand experts in the gallium arsenide (GaAs) and surface and bulk acoustic wave (SAW and BAW) technologies. The company has an impressive record of creating a variety of RF products and offering GaAs Foundry services to the world's largest communications companies.
