Avnet Technology Solutions and VDoc Software (News - Alert) have teamed up to provide collaborative software solutions. The solutions will increase the flow of information between people, documents and applications.

Under the terms of the agreement, Avnet will provide its IBM (News - Alert)-focused value-added resellers and independent software providers in the U.S. with market enablement services, such as marketing and education programs. The partnership will also enable Avnet to help VDoc, a European enterprise, expand into the growing U.S. market for collaborative solutions. VDoc Software is a subsidiary of Axemble Group, a privately-owned company founded in 1987 and headquartered in Lyon, France.

Avnet Technology Solutions (News - Alert) is an operating group of Phoenix-based Avnet, Inc. It is a technology sales and marketing organization with sales divisions focused on specific customer segments and a select line card strategy enabling an exceptional level of attention to the needs of its customers and suppliers.

"Our partners are constantly looking for new ways to solve their customers' business challenges," said Tony Madden, senior vice president and general manager, Avnet Technology Solutions (News - Alert), Americas, IBM Solutions group. "With solution offerings such as VDoc, partners can help their customers collaborate and automate business processes, directly improving efficiency and operational performance. The solutions are designed to enable our IBM partners to engage in business-focused conversations that set the stage for them as trusted advisors."

VDoc said that their software is known for its flexibility and easy to use features. It is well integrated into IBM and also is compatible with Windows, Linux, Unix and iSeries environments.

VDoc is a unique collaborative suite that provides four core solution portals, business process management, document management, and Web content management, in one fully integrated product. Each core can automate processes without the need for further programming. The cores are designed to assist business analysts and managers. The modular approach allows users to start with any component of the suite and extend it afterward.

"Solutions focused on the collaborative market provide a great door opener with customers," said Jorge Quintero, president, QCM Technologies. "They allow us to immediately zero in on our customers' business challenges and to then identify the best technology solutions to meet their needs. With Avnet and VDoc's new relationship, we'll be able to target the growing collaborative market and expand our consulting services as we help customers automate processes around collaboration."

VDoc states it also provides a catalog of pre-packaged collaborative applications, such as purchase and expense reimbursement requests, that can be adapted to address core business needs.
