Alert), an original equipment manufacturing (OEM) supplier of multi-port 1Gigabit Ethernet (GbE) and multi-port 10GbE high-performance network adapters, has announced the launch of an upgarded version of its Pattern Matching Adapter based on Tilera's TILE64 Multicore processor.
Deploying the two new added 10 Gbps ports on the board, or in advanced configurations in conjunction with the Napatech 1 Gbps and 10 Gbps high-performance network adapters, the new Pattern Matching Adapter offered by the company can be used as a standalone product as well.
The new solution features an array of advanced functionalities such as pattern search at full 20 Gigabit per second line speed and across fragmented packets, a sustained capacity up to 1 million flows, ability to handle one hundred thousand new flows per second and 20 Gbps speed up to 2 million characters for all patterns, to name a few.
The new pattern matching adapter has been added to the product line already being offered to Napatech's OEM customers, and will be of vital use within Appliances for Intrusion (

The adapter is equipped with Linux drivers, a programming interface and development tools, and offers useful features such as line rate capture and processing of frames up to 20 Gbps, 10 ns time-stamping of every packet, channel merging, frame classification, conditional dynamic frame slicing, 64 user-programmable filters, packet coloring, deduplication and support for 32 CPU cores. The adapter is compatible with Linux, FreeBSD and Windows.
Erik Norup, president of Napatech, said that the new Pattern Matching Adapter is an enhancement of the earlier Tilera TILE 64 Processor (
