BreakingPoint Systems, a network equipment testing company, has announced that it is now working with Vicom, an independent provider of test and measurement solutions. The two companies will provide next-generation testing equipment to networks in Australia and New Zealand.
As network traffic continues to grow both in terms of quantity and complexity, there is an increasing demand for new content-aware network devices and services. Companies demand tools that can positively impact their time to market and lower their R&D, QA, and operating costs as well as reduce the risk of performance or security issues in production environments.
BreakingPoint officials said that the company provides next performance and security testing solutions for dynamic, content-aware network devices. Company officials also added that their solutions enable realistic testing by generating authentic converged business and recreational application traffic combined with live security attacks, at speeds of 20 Gigabits per second.
BreakingPoint’s system uses a patent-pending Test Expression Engine which features multiple Field Programmable Gate Arrays, network processors, and an array of embedded processors that produce millions of real application data streams while testing security completely.
Other features of BreakingPoint’s testing tool include ease of use, the ability to deploy quickly, automate tests and control the device under test. Company sources added that the system was designed as an all-in-one box that provides multi-port and multi-user capabilities.
Leonard Zhang, BreakingPoint, Asia-Pacific, commented, "Global network equipment manufacturers (NEMs) and service providers are struggling to accelerate the development and deployment of next-generation network devices, while reducing the cost of test. BreakingPoint is rewriting the rules of network equipment testing and working with Vicom, the largest independent provider of test equipment and services within the Australian region, to continue providing realistic testing solutions throughout the world."
Commenting on the partnership, Jason Roberts of Vicom said that the incredibly sophisticated network devices used today has caused a shift in the way that people test these next-generation of network devices.
Roberts added, “Vicom prides ourselves in the ability to deliver reliable high quality test system solutions for some of the world's largest next-generation networks, and we look forward to this developing relationship with BreakingPoint."
Founded in 2005 and headquartered in Austin, Texas, BreakingPoint Systems is exclusively focused on application, performance, and security testing for content-aware devices. The company helps network equipment manufacturers, services providers, and enterprises efficiently develop high performance content-aware networks.
