Verizon (News - Alert) Wireless and Palm have launched the Palm Treo 700wx, designed for individuals and mobile professionals who want business productivity solutions and all-in-one mobile communications solution.

 
The new smartphone runs Microsoft (News - Alert) Windows Mobile 5.0 with special Direct Push Technology, full QWERTY keyboard for easy typing, a 240 x 240 touch screen, 1.3 mega pixel camera, rich media capabilities, e-mail, and built-in 64 MB of memory. It offers tools that cater to the need of mobile professionals including access to Windows Media Player 10, Outlook applications, Internet Explorer and access to Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint files.
 
The new smartphone’s Direct Push Technology connects customers to Microsoft Exchange Server faster. It allows users to get automatic updates of their calendar, contacts, tasks, and e-mail. It is also back up with reliable security features that prevent unauthorized usage and identity theft.
 
Tim Roper, the vice president for Palm, Inc. in the U.S. region, believes that their target market has a lot of reasons to get the new mobile unit. Verizon provides the Palm Treo 700wx users with a wireless high-speed connection that offers an average download speed of 400-700 kilobits per second. Verizon’s broadband service covers 242 major cities and 180 major airports across United States. This is a valuable feature to customers who would like to get connected anywhere, anytime without the need for their computers.
