Dr. Raja Iyer Appointed Dean of Capella University's School of Business and Technology

Capella University, an accredited fully online university that has built its reputation by providing quality education for working adults, has named Raja K. Iyer, PhD, as dean of its School of Business and Technology, the group reported.
As dean, he will act as chief academic officer of the School of Business and Technology, which offers eight graduate level online degree programs that include 34 specializations.
"Dr. Iyer brings an outstanding blend of experiences and qualifications and I am thrilled that he is joining Capella. He will be a wonderful fit for our faculty and learners as we continue our commitment to providing high-caliber academic excellence," said Dr. Christopher Cassirer, president of Capella University.
Iyer joins Capella from Tarleton State University, a component of Texas A&M, where he most recently served as dean of the College of Business Administration. He also held academic positions at San Jose State University, California as professor of Management Information Systems; and at the University of Texas at Arlington, as associate professor of Information Systems and Management Sciences.
Iyer's corporate leadership positions have included vice president & chief technology officer at Acropolis Systems, Inc.; chief architect and practice manager for the Security and Business Continuity Planning Practice of Sprint Enterprise Network Services; and director of Corporate Strategic Planning for Onan Corp. He served on the Certification Board of the Disaster Recovery Institute International and as chair of its Education and Testing Standards Committee, which established the "Professional Practices for the Business Continuity Professionals," now adopted worldwide. He has published over 60 articles and lectured worldwide on disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
