Rough Guides to feature on launch of the new Vodafone 360 Apps Shop
(M2 PressWIRE Via Acquire Media NewsEdge) Rough Guides today announces the launch of travel apps on the new Vodafone 360 Apps Shop, enabling consumers to access award winning travel content via their mobile phone for just 49p or 49 euro pence each.
Featuring background information for each destination, 'things not to miss' plus the best places to eat, shop and drink, these mini guideswill cover destinations across the globe. Created specifically for the Vodafone 360 Apps Shop they also include an image gallery to give consumers a real flavour of the destination - perfect for time pressed travellers on the go.
50 Rough Guide travel guide apps will be available on Vodafone's flagship launch handset the Vodafone 360 Samsung H1 phone with a further 150 destinations available this autumn for download on the Vodafone 360 Samsung M1 and H1 handsets as well as a range of Nokia Symbian smartphones.
These exclusive Rough Guide travel apps were created in partnership with Mobile Commerce, the UK's leading provider of location-based services (LBS) and mobile content integration.
Rough Guides is no stranger to the world of digital mobile, previously having worked with Motorola to produce Rough Guides Mobile. These location-aware city guides feature trusted content alongside social networking features and user-generated content, and have now been preloaded on over 7 million mobile phones in Europe. This mobile product was the winner in the Entertainment and Leisure category in the 2009 NAVTEQ Global LBS Challenge Award and was a runner up for the prestigious Grand Prize.
