Sophos Provides Malware Scanning Engine for Optenet

May 31, 2010 (Close-Up Media via COMTEX) -- IT security and data protection firm Sophos announced that it has partnered with Optenet, a global supplier enabling SaaS offerings and delivering "on-premise" security solutions, to provide proactive malware protection for Optenet's web and email security solutions customers.


Sophos said its high-speed malware detection technology is now fully integrated across Optenet's web and email security solutions - Optenet WebSecure, Optenet MailSecure, and Optenet NetSecure. A single scan from the Sophos engine protects against viruses, spyware, worms, Trojans, and adware.

"The web has become the biggest breeding ground for malware - every few seconds, legitimate websites are being compromised by cybercriminals looking to host their wares," said Francisco Martin Abreu, President and CEO at Optenet.
