F5 Completes Validated Integration of BIG-IP Products with Oracle's Applications

By Jayashree Adkoli, TMCnet Contributor

F5 Networks (News - Alert), Inc., a provider of application delivery networking, or ADN, has completed validated integration testing of its two BIG-IP products, Local Traffic Manager and WebAccelerator, with Oracle’s (News - Alert) applications.

F5 Networks officials said that it achieved Oracle Validated Integration for BIG-IP Local Traffic Manager, or “LTM,” and BIG-IP WebAccelerator with Oracle’s applications, such as Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0, Oracle PeopleSoft Enterprise 9.0, and Oracle Siebel CRM 8.0, through the Oracle’s PartnerNetwork Application Integration Architecture for Partners, or “AIAP,” initiative.

The company’s BIG-IP systems improve the role of the network in application environments. These solutions are designed, engineered, tested and documented for integration with other enterprise applications, in a variety of real-world deployment circumstances.

The BIG-IP LTM is an application delivery networking system featuring a set of unified application infrastructure services that deliver total control, vision, and flexibility into application security, performance and delivery.

With the integration of F5’s BIG-IP LTM with Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0, PeopleSoft Enterprise 9.0 and Siebel CRM 8.0, efficient distribution of traffic can be achieved. In addition, this integration boosts application availability by monitoring server health.

The BIG-IP WebAccelerator is an advanced Web application delivery solution that offers a series of intelligent technologies that overcome performance issues involving browsers, Web application platforms and WAN latency. It offloads servers, decreases bandwidth usage, and ensures the productivity of application end users by decreasing page download times.

F5’s BIG-IP WebAccelerator’s integration with Oracle’s solutions improves web content delivery – by efficiently utilizing bandwidth, and preventing repetitive or duplicate data being served to users. This in turn helps in speeding up the first and subsequent visits to Oracle E-Business Suite 12.0, PeopleSoft Enterprise 9.0, and Siebel CRM 8.0 applications.

And, the latest validations that were completed through the AIAP initiative were built on company’s existing portfolio of solutions for Oracle applications, which facilitate Oracle customers to optimize their application infrastructures - for enhanced user experience, productivity, as well as increased ROI.

The validation through Oracle PartnerNetwork AIAP initiative ensures customers that: they have been tested and validated as functionally and technically sound; are integrated with Oracle Applications in a reliable, standards-based manner; and that the integrations operate as well as perform as documented.

This not only helps in reducing risks, but also improves system implementation cycles, and moreover facilitates for smoother upgrades and simpler maintenance, says Oracle. Moreover, the validation through this initiative applies a rigorous technical process to review the integrations of third-party software to Oracle Applications products.

Additionally, partners who have successfully validated their integrations are authorized to use the Integrated with Oracle logo, company officials said.

Oracle will provide tools, resources and training to assist partners in the integration.
