By Anshu Shrivastava, TMCnet Contributor

T-Mobile (News - Alert) USA has announced the upcoming availability of the T-Mobile myTouch 3G, which is a follow-up to the T-Mobile G1, the world’s first Android powered device.

Designed by HTC (News - Alert), T-Mobile myTouch 3G sports a sleek look and contoured feel and is equipped with an array of new features that builds on its predecessor including a touch-3.2-inch HVGA screen display with virtual keyboard incorporated into the design.

myTouch empowers users to create an individualized wireless phone and experience. “T-Mobile myTouch 3G puts you first, so you can create a mobile experience that is truly your own,” said Denny Marie Post, chief marketing officer at T-Mobile USA.

This latest device offers the ability to customize menus, wallpapers, icons and more. Also, users can choose from thousands of Android (News - Alert) Market applications as well as themes and skins.

“There’s no cookie-cutter approach to myTouch. Inside and out, there are boundless possibilities for personalization so you can put your personal touch on the phone and make it uniquely yours,” said Post.

In addition to its deep integration of Google (News - Alert) services and the latest Android software, T-Mobile myTouch customers can also access new applications, including Sherpa.

Created by Geodelic, Sherpa features Geodelic ENgine for Interest Evaluation (GENIE), a learning engine that automatically customizes itself to a user’s preferences.

T-Mobile is working closely with Google and developers like Geodelic to create experiences that are unique as each person using it,” said Cole Brodman, chief technology and innovation officer at T-Mobile USA.

Andy Rubin, vice president, mobile platforms at Google, believes that with myTouch, T-Mobile is “poised to capture the imagination of consumers everywhere.” He added that by expanding the availability and appeal of Android-based devices, T-Mobile is providing developers a bigger market for the next wave of killer Android applications.

T-Mobile myTouch 3G also features a 3.2-megapixel camera, a music player with a pre-installed 4GB microSD memory card, and enhanced video capabilities. Additionally, the device’s mobile Web experience is supported by fast data speeds through Wi-Fi and T-Mobile’s 3G network.

Also, myTouch is equipped with multitasking capabilities and one-touch access to the Google services such as Google Search by voice, Google Maps with Street View, YouTube (News - Alert) and Picasa.

myTouch is expected to be available for current T-Mobile customers starting July 8 for $199.99 with a two-year agreement.
