Boingo Wireless has renewed its Platform Services agreement with Verizon. In addition, the deal has been expanded for four years. Boingo (News - Alert) Wireless, Inc. makes it easy for people to access Wi-Fi on their laptop or mobile device at more than 120,000 individual hotspots throughout the world.

 

The new agreement between Boingo Wireless and Verizon is designed as a master agreement. The agreement gives Verizon the right to extend services previously provided to Verizon Business (News - Alert) to other business units.

 

According to Dave Hagan, president and CEO of Boingo Wireless (News - Alert), Verizon is one of the longest-standing platform services partners of Boingo Wireless. The renewal and expansion of the agreement is a validation of Boingo Wireless’ turnkey offering. Hagan also added that the renewal will extend their six-year relationship into a decade-long partnership.

 

The Boingo network locations include top airports around the world, major hotel chains, cafés and coffee shops, restaurants, and metropolitan hot zones. The world’s largest operator of neutral host airport hotspots, Boingo manages Wi-Fi networks in around 60 airports in the United States, Canada and the United Kingdom. Boingo has established network access agreements with 165 Wi-Fi network operators in 96 countries around the world.

 

Boingo essentially enables global Wi-Fi roaming, without the roaming fees. A user can access one account at all the hotspots available around the world. Users can also take Boingo on the road for business and stay connected.
