Integra Continues Jerry Lewis MDA Telethon Telecommunications Sponsorship

Integra Telecom Inc., a provider of telecommunications services including business voice, data, Internet and integrated solutions, reportedly announced that it will now sponsor telecommunication services and support seven local Labor Day broadcasts of Jerry Lewis MDA (News - Alert) Telethons through its Community Matters program.
Integra Telecom's Community Matters program supports initiatives and organizations that benefit the lives of the people in the communities where Integra serves. The program supports causes and organizations within the following three categories which include; Youth - health, education and the well-being of the youth in the communities Integra serves; Health - wellness, safety and the eradication of disease; Community - improving the stability and quality of life in our communities particularly in regard to benefiting low-to-moderate income individuals.
The Muscular Dystrophy Association is a nonprofit voluntary health agency working to defeat muscular dystrophy and related diseases through programs of worldwide research, comprehensive services, and far-reaching professional and public health education. This year marks the Integra’s seventh year as the MDA Telethon’s telecom sponsor.
Reportedly, Integra supported telethons in: Denver, Minneapolis, Phoenix, Salt Lake City, Seattle, Reno, Nev., and Portland, Ore., donating nearly $76,000 in telephone and Internet service and support to the Muscular Dystrophy Association.
“Integra Telecom is proud to once again be part of the Jerry Lewis MDA Telethons and to help raise funds and awareness for the Muscular Dystrophy Association,” said Dudley Slater, CEO at Integra Telecom, in a statement.
As the official telecommunications sponsor of the MDA Telethon, Integra Telecom has donated telephone equipment, local, long distance and Internet service and on-site technician support for each of the seven telethons. Additionally, 140 Integra associates and family members are serving as phone bank volunteers for a portion of the telethons.
“At Integra, we work hard to better our communities both through our business as well as through community outreach,” Slater said in a statement. The telethon was a perfect opportunity to increase the health and well-being of our communities, using resources that we know best – telephones and the Internet.”
