Cavalier Selects Transaction Network Services

By Anil Sharma, TMCnet Contributor

Cavalier, a provider of competitive telecommunications services throughout the eastern U.S., reportedly has selected Transaction Network Services to be its exclusive supplier of SS7 network and database services.

Cavalier is a full-service provider of telecommunications solutions for business, consumer, and government customers.

Using it’s owned and operated fiber optic network, the company serves hundreds of thousands of customers throughout the eastern U.S. As part of the agreement TNS (News - Alert) will provide Intelligent Network services, including local number portability, and SS7 connectivity to power Cavalier’s communications products.

“TNS has been a consistent, strategic telecommunications partner to Cavalier over the past several years. It made sense to expand our long-standing agreement to include all SS7-related services so that we can leverage one trusted relationship for our outsourced network solutions”, said Jim Vermeulen, executive vice president of operations for Cavalier, in a statement.

Vermeulen said that TNS has the network, the scale, and service portfolio to accommodate the company’s growing business.

“We value the trust that Cavalier has instilled in TNS as a long-term provider of SS7 services. Our team is committed to maintaining this exclusive relationship and look forward to their continued growth and outstanding level of service to their customers,” said Michael Robinson, executive vice president and general manager for TNS’ telecommunication services division.

Transaction Network Services (News - Alert) is an international data communications company that enables payments, money and voices to move around the world.
Back in September Transaction Network Services had announced that Iusacell, one of Mexico’s mobile operators, has selected the company to provide a full suite of roaming services.

The TNS Global Roaming Consortium, a CDMA Roaming Hub, will allow Iusacell’s (News - Alert) 3.5 million subscribers to experience seamless roaming services when traveling globally.

Under the terms of the deal, TNS will provide signaling, agreement management for inter-carrier roaming services, clearing and settlement, and a Web-based roamer visibility tool.
