ClairMail Customer Recognized for Mobile Banking
By Anuradha Shukla, TMCnet Contributor
Proactive mobile banking and payment solutions provider ClairMail has reportedly announced that customer BB&T won accolades for its mobile banking offering. Two industry analyst firms, ABI Research and Javelin Strategy and Research have given top grades to the national bank in their recent reports.
BB&T reportedly received the top "A" grade in the September 2009 Mobile Banking: U.S. Banks Report Card from ABI Research (News - Alert). The bank was also named a Silver category winner in Javelin Strategy and Research's 2009 Mobile Banking Scorecard published October 2009.
ClairMail and BB&T have been working together since October 2007. The company’s mobile banking and alerts platform enables BB&T to provide its clients with proactive, interactive and immediate access to their accounts from virtually any mobile device.
These accolades have been awarded to BB&T after a comprehensive review of its services. For the ABI award, the bank competed with 29 other U.S. banks. These banks were evaluated based on reach, breadth of services offered, security and discoverability. After the evaluation, ABI rated BB&T's mobile banking operations as "exceptional."
The second award was equally tough to win. Javelin Strategy and Research's Mobile Banking Scorecard ranked 20 of the nation's 40 largest banks on their consumer mobile banking offerings. The analyst firm evaluated their offering based on features, access and marketing. According to BB&T officials, they were ranked and awarded Silver status for its overall results.
Sumit Deshpande, product group manager of mobile and messaging services at BB&T said that the company is dedicated to provide the perfect client experience for banking and financial management. ClairMail was chosen as a strategic partner for its mobile banking initiatives because its comprehensive platform enabled them to provide their clients with an easy-to-use solution, and laid the foundation to extend their mobile services in the future.
"We congratulate BB&T on its mobile banking recognition. The analyst research demonstrates that simply offering mobile banking services is not enough and does not guarantee a successful initiative," said Pete Daffern, CEO of ClairMail, in a statement. "In order to deliver on the promise of mobile, banks need to be thinking about best practices for adoption and usability that help drive the growth of this banking channel across lines of business to reach 100 percent of their customer base."
