MTS Allstream (News - Alert) Inc.'s, a wholly owned subsidiary of Manitoba Telecom Services and one of Canada's national communication solutions providers, has selected Actiontec Electronics’ (News - Alert) DSL solutions to power high-speed residential DSL service.
Kelvin Shepherd, president consumer markets, MTS Allstream, said that MTS Allstream is pleased to include Actiontec's innovative products in our broadband service offering, and that the company looks forward to working with Actiontec.
Actiontec Electronics officials said that MTS Allstream selected Actiontec's GT724WG 54 Mbps Wireless DSL Gateway (News - Alert) and the GT701D USB/Ethernet DSL Modem.
The company officials said that the GT724WG combines a full-rate ADSL2+ modem, a four port Ethernet switch and 802.11g wireless gateway in a sleek, easy-to-use package.
With an ENERGY STAR (News - Alert) adapter and small footprint, the green GT701D helps customers reduce their energy bills and protect the environment.
The compact device combines a full-rate ADSL2/2+ modem with a router capable of networking two computers via wired ports, or more through a switch or hub.
“MTS Allstream's selection of our DSL solutions further validates the worldwide reputation and leading performance of our products,” Brian Henrichs, chief business development officer at Actiontec, said.
Henrichs said that the company looks forward to growing the relationship with MTS Allstream as they continue to deliver fast speeds, enhanced features and reliable service to their customers.
Actiontec Electronics develops broadband connectivity and broadband-powered solutions that the company says simplify and enrich the digital life – delivering a unified experience that encompasses communications, entertainment and home management.
In June, Actiontec Electronics had announced the latest addition to its powerline portfolio with the launch of its new MegaPlug AV 4 Port Switch.
The sleek device instantly turns any electrical outlet in the home into a high-speed Internet connection with speeds up to 200 Mbps. And with four built-in ports, the new switch allows more devices to take advantage of the high-performance powerline network simultaneously.
