Horn Group, a digital communications agency, announced it has deployed a high performance Wi-Fi network from Xirrus, a privately held Wi-Fi company. The agency installed Xirrus XN8 Wi-Fi Arrays in both its San Francisco and New York offices.

By migrating from wired to 100 percent wireless, Horn Group now gives its employees the coverage, freedom, and flexibility to work reliably throughout the company's 30,000 square feet combined, company officials said.

Ed Garcia, Horn Group's director of IT, said, “We were using consumer grade Wi-Fi as a convenience and I was skeptical that Wi-Fi had achieved the performance and reliability for enterprise use. But after 30 days of testing there have been no issues and people cannot tell the difference between their old wired and new Wi-Fi connectivity – so I told everyone to 'go ahead, unplug the wires permanently.”

“We strive to represent companies that provide unique, game-changing products and services,” Horn Group CFO Bina Motiram said. “Implementing our clients' technology takes the agency/client relationship to a different level and gives our account teams hands on experience with the companies they represent.”

“We've made it a practice to implement our clients' products – from our time tracking system and HR software to storage solutions and useful social tools,” Motiram said. “This is a trend I expect to continue in our company.”

Horn Group started working with Xirrus in June after a competitive three-month agency review.

Xirrus is the manufacturer of the patented Wi-Fi Array, the only fully distributed, dense radio Wi-Fi architecture available in the industry today.

The company recently deployed its high performance 802.11n Wi-Fi Arrays across the Adams 12 Five Star School District in Thornton, Colorado, TMCnet reported. Also, in June the company announced it is deploying the Wi-Fi Arrays at Professional Hospital Supply or “PHS.”
