Sybase is reportedly partnering with Siemens Enterprise Communications (SEN) Group to provide a fully integrated mobile and fixed line voice and data solution to customers. This new solution will help customers to manage various device types in a heterogeneous environment, states the company.
SEN Group will make use Sybase (News - Alert) Afaria to manage multiple devices. Afaria is an enterprise-grade, highly scalable solution with a central Web-based console that provides IT with control over a host of key functions from a standard browser. With Afaria, IT has the level of control and visibility required to proactively manage and secure multiple device types, applications, data and communications.
In this new solution, Sybase’s mobile device management capabilities are combined with the SEN Group’s Fixed Mobile Convergence (News - Alert) (FMC) technology. This offers a complete end-to-end solution that companies can use to simplify the management of a hugely diversified communications infrastructure. They can also manage operations such as inventory and expenses, logistics, mobile devices and applications.
“Enterprise mobility plays such a significant role in today’s personal and professional environments that customers require the highest level of support from proven experts,” said Terry Stepien, president of Sybase iAnywhere, in a release. “As a result of this widespread adoption and to fully empower today’s information workers, Sybase and Siemens (News - Alert) are committed to helping enterprises overcome the management challenges that accompany rapidly emerging mobile technologies, including collaboration and unified communications.”
For SEN Group, Sybase provides abilities such as enterprise device management platform and rich expertise and proven leadership in the enterprise mobility space. Sybase Afaria enables the SEN Group to significantly reduce the complexities associated with managing multiple device types.
The company recently teamed up with Verizon (News - Alert) to enable multinational companies to effectively manage the deployment and ongoing support of their growing mobile workforce. Verizon’s new offering, Managed Mobility Solutions, utilizes Sybase’s proven mobility services expertise and enterprise device management platform to help global businesses manage the complexities surrounding the increasing number of mobile information workers.
